POLICY STATEMENT ON CORE LABOR REQUIREMENTS

We hereby proclaim the following policies to protect the human rights of workers involved in forest certification.

1. Prohibition of child labor
We will not employ children under the minimum employable age as stipulated by domestic laws.

2. Elimination of forced labor
We will not force labor unreasonably in any form of employment.

3. Elimination of occupational and employment discrimination
We respect basic human rights and do not engage in acts that disregard human rights, such as discrimination or harassment based on nationality, race, place of birth, religion, disease, or disability.

4. Respect for freedom of association and collective bargaining
We respect the freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining as a means for enabling negotiations between labor and management regarding matters such as the working environment and wage levels.
